The Anatomy and Setup of the Whalen-Jack Scaffold System

The Whalen-Jack is a non-ground based scaffold option that exceeds OSHA safety standards, and offers a lightweight, versatile system for construction projects. Compared to other scaffold types, the Whalen-Jack requires fewer pieces to track, and sets up in hours rather than days.

The entire Whalen-Jack system is captures in this picture:

Set up is more efficient than traditional options, you can watch the whole process in under 2 minutes in this video:

The process starts with measuring 12” under the plate, and drilling a 1.25” hole which does not need to be centered.

The T-bar is then threaded through the hole from the side of the building, which is secured with 2 screws into a stud.

The bracket is then slipped over the exterior section of the T-bar, and is secured with a pin.

The railing is then attached to the bracket via pin.

Planks are placed horizontally across the installed brackets, and 2x4’s are installed to act as guardrails.

On a large property of around 5500 square feet, 4 workers can setup the entire perimeter in 2.5 hours. Takedown is a little longer, taking about 3.5-4 hours.
